I grew up watching anime styled animated movies such as "The Wind Rises" and "Weathering with you" created by Studio Ghibli and by "Comix Wave Studios". When I watched these types of films some of the scenes got me very emotional and gave me goose bumps such as when the test pilot's plane gets into an uncontrollable dive crash in "The Wind Rises". I read an article on how and why the director Hayao Miyazaki emphasises the use of flight in most of his famous films. This encouraged me to start drawing my own planes and adapting similar style in the animation. I also enjoy playing games such as Fortnite, Minecraft and TF2. The first game that I've ever played was Minecraft when my dad bought it for me as a birthday present. It was a very nice gift and I will cherish these moments as a part of memories. Then I got onto the competitive side of gaming, such as Team Fortress 2, Valorant and Fortnite. I'm not the best at fps gaming though I want to be more confident at it.
In my current course at college, I am learning the skill sets of 2D & 3D modelling, filming, animating and I practise some traditional drawing techniques as ink drawing, acrylic paint, charcoal, collage, monotypes and mix media. I feel comfortable to work with Creative Cloud suits and experimented with the twelve principals of animation in depth. I work with software named Blender and Maya for 3D modelling/animation, while for my 2D animation and digital drawing I use Photoshop and Adobe Animate. In my second year I worked on another life project requiring to create a brand identity for the healthy snack company called Snackzilla. This was a valuable experience to me as I have learned how to present my work to the client up to the professional standards, how important is the effective communication within the group and I adopted some good time management skills that are essential for the submission of the project on time.
What I create in Maya were chess pieces, cars, battleships planes and spaceships. Some of them were commissioned, others I sell on third party websites such as "Discord" where I am a member of the building/car communities that do modelling, which makes it is easier and quicker for me to find a buyer. On the 2D perspective side, I focused my attention mostly on drawing digital illustration of characters, wherever it is my own or just an fanart piece. I was working with a company called Kingston Eco-op where I helped other elderly or handicapped people. I also visited EGX on my second year on my school field trip and tried the Tekken tournement to boost my confidetiallity skill, although I did'nt enter the tournament I tried to play the game just to get used to the controls. It was fun I guess.
During my time at university, I expect to learn more about 3D modelling, visual effects, animation and esports as the door to this fascinating creative industry was just open for me at college. I want to fully understand and adapt the technical skills required by the companies and develop my own unique animation style. I also want to improve my anatomical drawing skills, gaming stratergy and confidetiallity skills which will help me to create more intriguing characters and learn the gameplay mechanics on the game. I also want to learn on how ecelebrities get big on twitch as well. I anticipate to work hard and be punctual. I strongly believe that this environment will stimulate my creativity and personal growth. My professional aspiration is to work as an animator for a big company such as "Studio Ghibli" or "Pixar" or become a known ecelebrity on twitch and be known by people that is in the big league. I believe that my chosen university course will be a foundation stone to build up professional skills, form a network of friends and become a professional animator and maybe a competetive gamer. I also want to travel around the world while competing tournements.
