Roy Lichtenstein Annotation Task

Tools I used

The tools I used were non-traditional, since they're used digitally on adobe illustrator.

The selected tools I used for this task were; the pen tool (which was to hold and drag each of the lines around the facial features, and distort the shapes of the text), colour picker tool (which was to fill the colour of the inside area and fill the bold outline of the stroke), the ellipse tool, (which was to create the shapes of the eyes), the variable width tool (which was to widen the lines to create a shadow for the light contrast) and the type tool (which was to type the text for the shape of each of the facial features).

The tutorial on how I created it

When we first introduced to the Roy Lichtenstein project, I watched the tutorial video that was pre-recorded which was separated step by step. The next thing I did was just to create a new canvas on adobe illustrator and then start my project. Firstly, I put a portrait image of my self that was captured by a camera inside one of the layers called background. I then added in another layer then start using the pen tool to select all around my face. The process of doing it was to click, hold and drag each points to make the lines to curve smoother. Once I finished selecting the lines all over my face I then used the eye dropper tool to select the colour of my face and filled it in with the colour picker tool. I repeated this same process again and again with each of different facial features around my face, my clothes and neck. For the eyes however, I created a shape that matches around the outside of the eyes and use the ellipse tool for the eyes. I then divided the unnecessary shapes I needed with using the path tool.

My overall point of view

In my opinion, I think that the overall project task was looking success-full considering the fact that it looked nearly identical to Roy Lichenstein's work. The amount of patients really put a good work on my digital portrait task. The only thing I didn't like is the dots on my face because it didn't quite match as what Roy Lichenstein's portraits but it was quite close to it.
