Imma start with some required information

plugins you need

idk I might make a separate plugin installing guide because this is irrelevant to the subject

anyway

required plugins

uses : importing of height maps and props objects from Google map

power: making roads in correct scales and building locations

MMI

what it does : importing of google earth models

uses: could fit the model into GIS with scale 50

very useful for background images

google earth is a very good use even for textures

and reference

but our map goal won't be limited in rl maps so I don't have to be scared of mistakes

I found a course that links between two towns over a mountain


and it's really tight of a road two

I always find those fun

because power isn't really important anymore

seems so nice of a place

the looks the vibes

my very first attempts of making a map was taking parts out of initial D psp

and remaking them into something

I went more far since then by testing all types of methods

this time I will grap the height map of this

and yeet it into blender

this area seems lively

and a long drive

also two roads next to each other when I need to expand

giving it life it would be simply me making the most of the roads first

then going to link it with the cities downhill

for the sake of keeping roblox vibes I might keep the buildings brick builds

enable full power to thrusters

on the settings

I run both my graphics card and cpu on blender

so I can render longer distances

and not crash everytime I go into rendered view

if your gpu is strong enough

just use that


having a spin here is actually useful btw

but we are here for the plugin we installed

blender will try to commit die

my internet is sometimes bad

so I gotta wait for a while

exact location just dont move

just zoom in

u can adjust

by clicking esc

and changing locations

I suggest you buy a notebook

and write them down

if u want to make the map larger in the future

don't mind the shaking mouse sorry

my current mouse is wireless

and no batt

sometimes u get this

whats the fix

not all areas are covered really well with the height

but if go to somewhere like mt haruna

ofc sometimes

it doesn't load at first time

and make sure u hold shift

and select them all

u cant do it by clicking each

I never tried I just hold shift and slide down

don't expect much honestly

if it's outside a known location

or there's no google earth view for it

or some 3d object on the satellite

but I get what I need

I can convert these parts to a curve

I don't think I need to talk about that over and over

there's many ways of making height maps

im trying to find the easiest way to explain here

and how to align from multiple apps without error margin

don't trust google maps too much

surrounding height maps are ok to use

can be textured with a 1080p

u basically will be in the exact location

just wait till my blender realizes that im trying to aim towards the track area

get the height map fist



u gonna get a bunch of un needed roads

simple yeet them

the oval connects only at some parts

thats why it's a separate mesh

start separating the lines of the main circuit

alt and C to convert geo to curve

set ur curve modifer

as ur first always

and set the offset if needed

like if ur making a low poly map

I will cover that later on

scale it to fit nicely

using S ( normal scale and dragging ur mouse down meme)

go onto edit mode

and start working on the road shall we

start by setting materials onto the roads grass

or what ever ur working with

for ease of separation later on

also textures being easier jobs

oh gaps

but ur too lazy to fix?

this when u edit the offset



heading into the uv map section

uv map each segm with ur preferred texture

grass

what to do when u wanna add another curve to this

well in my case

the track is under

the other one :p

but it joins at the pit area so

imma add that

u can either cut it right here


or reduce the part count on the array

and add another mesh

after choppin

reduce count

and pull it back

then increase to connect

u can merge later anyway pussy

cutting the segments and adding what ever

in my case here I just did a simple

entrance

this must match the entrance last final edge width

so use the other part to make this

u get this basically

to make the rest u might wanna use reference

and a lot of segments

and a lot of reference pictures

which is why I just did the oval for now

and it kinda has nothing to do with the main track :/
