Pixar is another American computer animation studio based in California, founded in 3rd of Febuary 1986 by SteveJobs, Alexander Schure, Alvy Ray Smith, John Lasseter and Edwin Catmull. Pixar are also known for their successfull CG animated films such as "Finding Nemo" and "UP". Pixar also experimented with shorts just to give out a message on what the story is telling to the audience. The lamp intro animation is one of their icon for the logo. It is easy, plain and simple. The lamp animation has been polished and clean over the years when technlogy was beggining to improve. The lamp animation was the first short film that was introduced in 1986. It was written by John Lasseter, the two-minute short film revolves around one larger and one smaller desk lamp. In 2006, Disney saw the potential in Pixar so they wanted to partner with Pixar in order on help to create 3D animated movies. SteveJobs eventually sold the company to Disney around for $7.4 billion and decided to became a member of Disney's board and the largest shareholder of the company. The reason why they did this is because they can collaborate together on different films and projects and even use the same employees to work develop movie more faster and better. An example of an collaboration film that they made was "Brave" and "Tangled". It was'nt just Disney that they collaborated with. In my opinion the best films that Pixar made was "Ratatoulie." The reason is simple, foods. Pixar used the software called "RenderMan" to create 3 dimensional films. They even used maya for modelling the props, background and characters and animate them to create a whole lengthed movie. Usally they would have different departments for doing different parts such as the 3D modelling department and 3D rigging department where they rig the props and characters. This is all held up in a a pipeline where they create successfull shorts and movies.
